Just added a whole load of stuff to out Asda shop with still a few last minute bits to get

We are so late this year, we haven’t even got any decorations up. We’ve just about finished the lounge (or least I will when I get off of here) so hopefully tonight we can get the bits down from the loft.

Harry is ill again, he has a nasty chest infection - close to being pneumonia according to the dr. He’s on anti-b’s so hopefully it’ll settle down soon. He’s fine in himself - still a very noisy and very funny almost 5 year old.

Yesterday I had my Gastroscopy. I was very nervous leading up to it, not for what they were going to do but just the thought of having to have a tube down my throat.

I went to the Shepton Mallet Treatment Center, and they were lovely. I had my BP done (123/77 I think it was) and answered lots of health questions. The dr explained what was going to happen and I could have a choice of sedation or just the throat spray - not a difficult choice!!

I had a canula put in the back of my hand and a guard put in my mouth, then the sedative was given. At the time I knew what was going on, but I didn’t care. It didn’t take long at all, and I don’t remember being put in the recovery area.

Jon and Evie soon joined me and the nurse was very good in seeing how I was and making sure I felt ok. I had some water and sat there feeling like I had a good drinking session Apparently the dr had talked to me about what they discovered but I don’t remember that now - or at least I have a fuzzy memory of it.

I have a Hiatus Hernia. I have to wait 10 - 14 days to see my GP who will discuss what happens next. I’m actually not getting any symptoms now so as long as I’m careful (I know my triggers) I think it will be bale to manage it myself.

After about an hour I came home. Feeling still woozy and crashed out in the chair while Jon cooked tea (isn’t he fab!?)

I have no lasting effects, and I feel absolutley fine. I certainly wouldn’t be worried about having another one. The Center rang me this morning to see how I was

So back to Christmas! I have to get off here and finish the painting and tidying!! I want the tree up!!!

Time I mean!! I have no idea what day I’m on now, but have to say I’m really enjoying SW. The board I have joined is fab fab fab. Lots of lovely supportive ladies.

I’ve lost 7 lbs up til now, a bit slow I know with this being week 5 I think, but the week I started I ended up with bad tonsilitis, which meant I hardly ate anything. I lost 6 lbs though but the next week I STS - fair enough. My birthday was the follwing weekend which involved Hotel Chocolat Hand Piped Selection and a takeaway from our favourite Indian restaurant, Miah’s Tandoori.

The following week I had another sore throat and another lot of paracetamol and another STS.

This week I just about scraped a 1lb loss. I really need to drink more water, I’m so bad at not drinking anything. They say water helps, plus I need to get more fruit and veg inside and dare I say more exercise.

Will do as much as I can and see what happens this week. The main thing is is that my clothes feel better. My main guage is my new coat. When I bought it it felt snug. I said to Jon that I can’t afford to put on anymore weight. Now it is loose at the front. It moves when I walk

The house is quiet and I’m going to put my feet up in a sec and watch some trashy tv. Jon has taken the kids to Argos to get a couple of Peppa Pig bits for Evie’s 2nd birthday on monday. She has quite a bit, in fact we discovered some bits in the loft that we’d bought during the year so they they will do for Christmas

Have spent the morning testing a script out for someone, couldnt get it to work 100% though. Yesterday I spent a few hours going through all my domain names, making sure the contact info was right and then pointing the aliases to the main url. I have sooooo many names now :red I feel the urge coming on

Right I’m off before they come home, I want at least a few mins peace with my feet up

Well the x-ray ddn’t show anything unusal which I’m not really surprised about.
Chaz is a bit better today, he had a better night’s sleep with a pillow between his legs. I kept him off school - they finish today for half term anyway and I figure that sitting on hard chairs all day isn’t going to help.

The dr said to go back if it continues which I will do but I’ll also ring SGH and ask if he can be seen there, by people who know their stuff.

Jamie has been down to see his tutor and there is no problem with him returning next year so that’s good. Hopefully he’ll knuckle down and get some money together and get more focused.

Last night Charlie complained of leg pain, nothing unusual in a growing 6 year old but he woke up twice in the night crying because it was hurting him. When asked he pointed to his groin area and down his left leg.

I checked him this morning doing the movements that the Drs used to do when examining Jamie, Charlie found them too painful and had virtually no flexibility :(

We saw Dr Fox who referred us onto Yeovil for an x-ray. The radiographer couldn’t see anything obvious but was getting a bigwig to check it and Dr Fox will ring for the results tomrrow.

Hopefully it’ll end up being of no real concern but with our family history its very worrying. If they say they couldn’t see anything on the x-ray I know I’m not going to feel 100% ok with that. Perthes can be hard to spot but also it can be painful before anything actually shows on an x-ray. How will I know if the radiographers have experience of it? Will have to see what tomorrow brings but I think I’ll ask about a second opinion and maybe ring Prof Clarke’s secretary and see if he is able to get an appt at the clinic at SGH.

At least it half term next week so he can rest and not have hard chairs to sit on.

Ohhh also Charlie is going to be in the school nativity play! He’s playing King 1 and has a few lines to learn. I’m so surprised that he’s agreeing to do although I don’t know if he fully understands that there will be lots of people watching!

And on another note, Jamie has decided to leave college. He’s not enjoying his course so he’s planning on working until next Sept where he will (hopefully) start a new course. Hmmm we shall see!

Sad though that its measured in housework Yesterday I didn’t feel like doing anything so hardly anything got done. Today I’ve been all through the house bar the hall.

I’ve decided to give Slimming World a bash, tbh I’m a bit bored with WW and kinda lost my motivation. I know it started with my stomach probs flaring up again but now that’s died down again I’m struggling to get back on it. I did some reading and investigations and SW looks like it might be for me afterall. Now its getting colder stirfries are less appealing and baked potatoes are the way ahead Not to mention unlimited rice and pasta - gulp sounds scary as I do love a big portion

Got a starter pack on the way and I know the highly secret password for the website so off I go!
